I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Board Approved Supervisor (TX #68983) and a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor (S2174). I am also certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I attended The University of Texas at Austin where I earned my Bachelor of Science in human development and family sciences. I was awarded my Master of Arts in professional counseling at Texas State University in 2011. I have worked and volunteered in a variety of settings including multiple children's advocacy centers, grief & loss centers, and MHMR. I also serve on the executive board for several local non-profits that focus on perinatal mental health and educating professionals about sandtray therapy.
In addition to traditional talk therapy, I use play and sandtray therapy with my clients. During counseling, I use encouragement to facilitate you, or your child, in identifying your personal strengths that will help you cope adaptively to life’s stress. Together, as a team, you and I will explore ways to achieve the goals you set as we begin your healing journey.
While I work with many concerns, my areas of specialty include trauma, childhood sexual abuse, and perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. I provide counseling to children, teens and adults as well other counseling professionals.
